Christmas in July??

Hi! We participated in Christmas in July and got paired up with Peanut, a really cute woofie and her kitty sister, Pyper. They sent us all this stuff.

Just checking out the loot. There are temptations and some catnip treats. A couple of soft foamy balls with feet that are fun to bat around and a giant pompom with crinklies inside. Camie got some treats also and a chew bone.
We got a really nice card from them. They live in Canada.
Here we are checking out the catnip treats. They are really yummy.
Here is Camie with her chew bone. She really likes it. She took it and started chewing on it right away.

Thank you very much Peanut and Pyper. We love everything.

Sleepy on Saturday

I can't quite figure out why Mom was laughing at me and then taking my picture. She says its because it looked like I was doing sideways push-ups in my sleep. What is a push-up and why would I want to do one sideways?

Formerly Feral Friday

When I complained about the fact that the Tonks had been featured almost exclusively this week, Mom apologized and said that today was just for me. So here I am.
PS~We should be getting back to normal. School starts here on Wednesday for the 7th graders and Thursday for the 8th graders. Mom says they stagger the start date for the kids at her school so the 7th graders have an orientation day and a day without having to worry about being in Middle School with bigger kids to bully them.

Sharing with a Sibling

Mom let us have some more baby food and we decided to share it. Mom thought we were cute, so she took a video of our sharing, and we thought we would share it with you.

Meezer Rule Wednesday

Tavi: My rule is to always "help" make the bed. And then stop helping periodically to give yourself a bath so that Mom has to move you so she can finish making the bed.
Tiki: My rule is to always be the first to lay down on the freshly made bed.
We also want to apologize for not getting around to visit you for a couple of days. Mom has to work a couple of 12+ hour days to get the students ready for school. She came home last night exhausted and didn't let us visit very many of our friends. We should be back to normal Thursday or Friday.

Tiki Tuesday

Well, last night was a not very good night for me. Apparently my blood sugar dropped really low again, and it made me loose control of some stuff. Namely my bladder( I am so embarrassed). I was sleeping on Mom's bed between her legs, and she felt something cool and wet, and couldn't figure out what it was. She also said she could smell pee, but couldn't figure out why. When she finally figured out what was wrong, there was a huge wet spot on her sheets all the way down to her mattress, and I was all wet on one side. I HAD TO HAVE A BATH! Mom took me to the sink and wiped me down and then put some soap on me and then rinsed it off. I finally started howling about halfway thru the bath. Then Mom thought about why I could have peed the bed. I never miss my litterbox. So, she checked my bloodsugar and it was LOW. So low it didn't register on my meter. The good thing was that I got wrapped up in a towel and then she opened a jar of baby food for me and I got to eat the whole jar. Well, almost the whole jar. Tavi stuck his head in when I was mostly done. I am feeling better, and Mom is keeping a close eye on me to make sure I don't get this low again.

Not The Mama Monday

We have decided to give up our Meezer Monday for a better cause. It is Not the Mama Monday. He does so much for the Cat Blogosphere, and for lost kitties in his town. He just got done finding a home for a cute little kitty, and while taking a walk a few days later, he found another kitty that needs to find a forever home and rescued it. So, for all that you do for kitties Not The Mama, we salute you!

Easy Like Sunday Morning

Once again, I have decided to take over one of Camie's bed. She is on her other one behind me. It really is quite comfortable, and she doesn't mind. She lets us get away with anything.

Friends and Award on Saturday

We got this award from Castle. It is the Gold Card Award, and it is given to bloggers who "are always working to make things better for all cats and doggies". Thank you so much for thinking of us Castle.

We now must give the award to 5 friends. Four of these friends must be dedicated followers of our blog. One should be a new blogger and live in a different part of the world. Each awardee must link back to whomever gave the award.

As Castle said, it is hard to pick just 5 friends.

We are going to pick Victor the Vampire Kitty and his sister Mushka. They are pretty new to blogging and Victor, like Castle, looks almost like Tavi's face twin.

Next, we are going to pick Angus. He always makes us laugh.

Third, we are going to pick Tybalt, Holly, Ivy, Dana and Loki. They have been really good friends to us, and Cody would never forgive us if we didn't include them.

Fourth, we are going to pick The Taylor Catsssss. We have fun going to their blog, and Auntie Deb has done so much for the CB.

Lastly, we are going to pick Cheysuli. She always stops by to say hi to us, even if it has been a couple of days since we have had the chance to stop by and see her.

We really wish we could have picked 10 times 5 more bloggers to give this award to, as we think all of you deserve it.

Formerly Feral Friday

This is the little covered area the Nice Lady Person made for me. She took half of a PTU and put my fuzzy blanket in on the bottom and then hung a towel for me to hide behind when I need to. It is under her bathroom sink (which is actually in the bedroom) so I am close but watchful.

A couple of kitty friends have asked about the extra pigmentation in my eye. It is kind of like a giant freckle on the colored part of my eye and doesn't affect my vision at all. The Nice Lady Person loves my eye. She tells me I am unique and should be proud to look a little different.

Thursday Thirteen

As we said on Tuesday, Mom went back to work after being home with us for a little over a month. She works for a school and is considered an 11-month employee, so she works for 11 months, and doesn't work for one.
Here are Thirteen things that have or haven't happened because she went back to work:
1) Camie got mad and pooped in our room. :(
2) We have been snuggling a LOT with Mom when she comes home. :)
3) We got used to being fed later, and now we are being fed early, so our food clocks are all messed up. We still want to be fed at a later breakfast time, so we are starving when Mom comes home for lunch. :(
4) Because of #3, we get a small snack for lunch. :)
5) Mom hasn't been letting us visit our friends at the times we are used to. :(
6) Mom didn't come home for lunch and her nap yesterday because she was working on mailing papers. :(
7) Camie got mad and pooped in our room again. :(
8) Camie also got into 4 Cup of Soups that Mom obviously didn't have stored high enough and got styrofoam, noodles and dry powdery stuff all over Mom's bed. :(
9) Mom hasn't taken any new pictures of us. :(
10) We won't leave Mom alone when she comes home. :)
11) Mom has been tired, but can't sleep, so she is vegging a lot and reading a lot (which means not as much time visiting with our friends). :( & :) (lap time)
12) Mom told us she won't be home until realllllllllllly late next Tuesday and Wednesday, and she might not be able to make it home for our lunch nap either. :( :( :(
13) We miss Mom a lot, but are sure glad when she gets home. :)
All in all, we are glad that Mom is back to work because it means more treats, but we miss being able to be aloof because she was around all the time.

Meezer Rule Wednesday

When your Mom isn't around to give you loving because she's gone to work...just love the one you're with.

Tabby Tuesday

Mom sometimes hides treats for me in my blanket. Here I am searching for them. It is a fun game to play.

We are sad because Mom went back to work today after being home with us for a month. We like her home with us, except it does mean less treats for us. But we would rather have more mom time.

Does this pose make me look all brooding and mysterious?

Easy Like Sunday Morning

This is one of our rugs in the living room. I am trying to blend in so no-one can see me. We are just going to lay low today and rest with Mom.

Goodbye Sprout

Mom could only get two of us to wear a violet bow. We will miss you, Sweet Sprout.

Monty, we are thinking of you and your family and sending you our love.

Weekend Sadness

As you can see, Mom figured out how to turn our blog violet. She tried something and totally messed up our blog, but we got most of the stuff she lost back. Thank you KC, etc. for showing us how. Our thoughts and prayers will be in Maryland this weekend.

Thursday Awards

I, Tavi, got The Cool Cat Award from Abby of Manx Mnews. Thank you so much Abby. I really like my award.

Camie got this award from Dana, Tybalt's sister. Thank you so much Dana. Camie loves it very much.

We think everyone has received these awards. If you haven't, consider them passed on to you.

Meezer Rule Wednesday

In this picture, Mom is telling me it is time for bed.

My rule for today is: It is not time for bed until the Meezer says it is time for bed. If we want to stay out in the rest of the house until 3:00 am, you must accommodate us.

Tuesday, August 12, 2008

Tabby Tuesday

We are sorry that we haven't been around to see very many friends, but each time we start out to visit you, Mom starts crying again. We think most of our friends feel this way. So we wanted to say to all of you how much we love having you as friends and how grateful we are to have you in our lives. We don't say it enough. (((Hugs))) and purrs to all of you!

Goodbye Sweet Angel

Tracey, Matthew, Alex and Casie, we are thinking of you during this terrible time. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Easy Like Sunday Morning

Well, as you can see, Camie is not content to have just one bed. She is using 3 (three) beds to sleep on. Her foot is on her flat blue bed, most of her body is on her oval, puffy, red bed, and her head is in our ham-mick. Even woofies like the ham-micks, but unfortunately, all that will fit in there of her is her head.
A close up of Camie resting her head in our ham-mick. We suppose it is only fair as we take over her beds often enough - mol.

Here I am still recovering from all our Olympic watching so far. Mom says she can't wait to see more swimming and gymnastics. The rowing yesterday that we saw was pretty good too. The English 4 man team was amazing. We can't wait to see how they do the rest of their races. Mom has a friend's son who practiced with the men's volleyball team, so we are rooting for them to do well. Mom likes the sportsmanship that is shown throughout the games by all of the athletes. By and large all of the athletes act like we wish the rest of the professional athletes would act all the time. Happy Olympic season everyone.

Sleepy Saturday Morning

We stayed up late watching the Opening Ceremonies for the Olympics. It was pretty cool. Mom liked the way they lit the torch, and she said the ceremony was beautiful. We hope those of you that saw it liked it. We now have to recover so we can watch some of the Olympic events.

Formerly Feral Friday - The Faces of Miss Jade

Although not a great picture of me, this does show the extra pigmentation in my eye pretty well.

Here I am getting skritches from the nice lady person.

Here I am just hanging out on Cody's blanket. He doesn't like it much when I won't let him use it.

Here I am after sharing some Temptations with Cody. We both like them very much.

In other news, I had a very bad tummy last night. For the first time, I missed the litter box. Mom thinks it was because I was also throwing up at the same time. Needless to say the room smelled really bad for a long time. She cleaned it up, but she didn't like having to take the mat under our litter box outside to wash off outside at 1:00 am. She loves the mat we have under our litter box. It keeps the litter from traveling all over the room. It is specially made to go under litter boxes and she got it at the store with the red bullseye, but the link takes you to Amazon (and ours is black and white - she like the linked one better - mol). She says it is the only thing she has found that keeps the litter from traveling. Tell your beans to go buy one - it really works.

Thursday Thirteen (Meme)

Cody here. Abby at T'abby Normal tagged us for the Six Unspectacular Quirks Meme, so we thought we would turn it into a Thursday Thirteen and tell you a few things about each of us.

The rules:
Link to the one who tagged you. List the rules on your blog. Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours. Tag some blogger friends with links. Leave a comment on their blog to let them know they've been tagged.

1) I love to have arguments with mom. She tells me to do something (or not to do something) and I argue with her until I can tell she means business (Tavi)

2) I hate having Mom's door closed. I want to be able to come and go if I want to. I will bang on the door to get her to open it for me. I will then sometimes walk away and go curl up and go to sleep (Tavi)

3) I don't really like fish flavored food. (Tavi)

4) I don't really like fish flavored food either. (Tiki)

5) I have to have a bite of any meat that Mom is eating, and sometimes other foods too. (Tiki)

6) I lick and bite the hand of anyone who smokes. (Tiki)

7) I love Temptations and Greenies (I just found out about those). (Cody)

8) I really like my kitty brothers and doggy sister much more than I like any person. (Cody)

9) Some people don't believe that I exist because they have never seen me, even tho they have visited Mom multiple times. (Cody)

10) I have a little hidey hole that the nice lady person made me. It is made of half a PTU with a soft mat in it and it is half hiding under the sink. She then put a towel around it so I am hidden, but I can still come and go. (Miss Jade)

11) I like to sleep on top of my cardboard scratcher, so the nice lady person put it on the bed for me. (Miss Jade)

12) I will hide under the bed with the rest of the cats without hissing or growling, but if they come near me in the rest of the room, watch out. The nice lady person says I am getting much better tho. I only hiss or growl when whey get very close, or I feel cornered. (Miss Jade)

13) I only know how to do 1 (one) trick. I can stand on my hind legs for treats. I do not do any other tricks on command. I cannot sit, stay, lie down, shake hands, etc. (Camie)

We think this has been around to almost everyone now. If you haven't done it, please feel free. Thank you Abby for tagging us. We had fun!

NOMS Friend

Today is NOMS day, and we would like to introduce you to our NOMS friend.

This is Emma. She is another rescued greyhound. We met her because she was Camie's friend first, but we asked her to be our friend, and she agreed. She also lives with cats, and one of them is even diabetic too. Isn't she pretty.

Meezer Monday

This wonderful picture of me was done by Zoolatry for their High Five Saturday. They are so talented, and Mom says she LOVES it.

Lately, I have been doing the Full Monty a lot, and she was going to enter this one into the contest, but she said that the first picture she took of me doing the Monty looked a lot cuter, so that is the one she is using. Oh well.

We have a new chair in our room that we have been laying in a lot. Mom put our favorite blanket in the chair for us so it would be even more comfortable. It is supposed to be for her to sit in, but she hasn't had the chance to use it much yet - mol.

Easy Like Sunday Morning

Once again proof that Camie has the most comfortable beds.

We're Baaaaack!

What?!? Are you sure Mom? Are we really back?

Yep, she says we are back. Uncle M got Mom's computer working pretty well. It still needs work done to it, but Mom said it has to wait a couple of months so she can buy the necessary upgrades. In the meantime, he cleaned off her hard drive, and got it working much better so everything is faster and the external hard drive will now talk to the internal hard drive. We have missed you all and can't wait to get caught up with everything that has been happening.

Formerly Feral Friday

Once again, one of us has taken over Camie's bed. Her beds seem to be much more comfortable than ours, especially when she wants to sleep in them herself - hehehe.

We were so sad to hear about TT going to the bridge. She was one of our Secret Paws last December, and we had such fun picking out presents for her and her siblings. We know how sad her Mommy is feeling especially because she also just lost Fatty too. TT's mommy, we are thinking about you and purring for you.

We are all fine. The earthquake didn't bother us too much, and Mom says that nothing fell down or got broken. Mom was standing by her bathroom sink through the initial shaking and was waiting to see if it was going to get worse, and then we got one big jolt, and she got into the doorway. The whole time she was talking to us, telling us it would be okay. She said we have been through a lot worse ones.

As for Mom's computer, it is still being worked on. Apparently it needed more work than Mom thought, and Uncle M can only work on it during his free time. So hopefully, we will get it either tonight, or tomorrow, but hopefully Sunday at the very latest. We miss all of you.
