Our early Christmas Present

Well, hello and welcome to our early Christmas present. Mom finally said we could start a blog. We have all been reading the kitty blogs (and some doggies) for over a year now, and Mom has been slow to get the strong hints we have been giving her. Sometimes people are just so dense.

I suppose we should introduce ourselves. We are all indoor animals, and live in Southern California. Mom works at a middle school as a secretary and loves that age of kids (most people think she is nuts). She is also going back to school so she can teach them history. But this is not about mom, it is about us, so without further ado, here we are.

I am Cody, and I am a grey tabby. I am very shy around people and run and hide if anyone gets too close (closer than about 5 feet). If mom is very still and quiet, I will come up on the bed and get temptations from her, but the second she shifts or moves, I take off. I am about 8 or 9 years old. Mom can't really remember. I was originally her mom's cat, and I was inherited. I love my brothers and sister, and love to sleep with them.

I am Tiki, and I am a Tonkinese. I am 14 years old, and have been recently diagnosed with diabetes. I am doing okay so far. I don't like it very much when Mom has to test my blood sugar, but she does a quick job of it, so it isn't too bad. My numbers have been in the normal range for the last 5 days, so I haven't had to have any insulin. I seem to react very strongly to even the smallest dose of insulin, so Mom is pleased that she doesn't have to worry about my sugar going too low. I am a love bug, and love to be around people. If mom is around, I am either in her lap, or laying right next to her, touching her. Even tho the name of our blog is Camie's Kitties, she really belongs to us. She is our dog, and she knows it.

I am Tavi, and I am also a 14 year-old Tonkinese. As you can probably guess, Tiki and I are blood brothers. Mom got us shortly after she lost her two 20 year-old Siamese kitties in the same week. I too love people, and have to be around them. I am bigger than my brother, but he is the alpha cat when it comes to the food and the litter box, but I am in charge of everything else. I guess you could say he is the boss, and I am the muscle, but I don't throw my weight around, unless it is to get Mom to do something for us. For a human, I have to say that she is surprisingly intuitive as to our needs, and she spoils us rotten (which is as it should be). We cats have a dog that belongs to us. Mom might disagree, but she really is ours.

Hello, I am Camie. I am a 10 year-old ex-racing greyhound. I am, as we are frequently called, a couch-potato. I love nothing better than to spend my day asleep in my mom's bed waiting for her to come home. I raced until I was about 2-1/2. I was also first adopted by my mom's mom. I love to eat Scooby Snacks. They are the absolute best. I think of them as Temptations for dogs. When Mom first saw them, she was shopping at one of the warehouse stores, and she saw a plastic tub and just had to get them for me since she loved watching Scooby Doo as a kid. I found the tub up on the counter, and took it to my room, and ate the whole tub. They are now kept up so high that I can't get to them. Mom says I am a terrible counter surfer - whatever that means.

Thank you for visiting us. Oh, by the way, Mom has commented on some of the blogs as Tara (not the cat), so now we will be Camie's Kitties. If you have any questions, please feel free to leave us a comment. Love to you all.

Hi efurryone! It's so nice that you have a bloggie now an' we can come to visit you an' leave comments! Yay!

Cody ... Wow! My Secret Paws package really arrived quickly. I'm furry glad that the vase got there in one piece. Mom helped me to match vases to recipients. It was furry hard for me to do. I'm glad that you like the Temptations. I LOVE them.

Tell your momma that the CSET for social sciences is very broad and she should bone up on her cultural anthropology, geography, world cultures, and American history. Mom has had her social science credential for about fifteen years now an' the test names change, but the stuff on the test doesn't change much.

Concatulations on your bloggie!
