Meezer Monday

Here I am giving Mom Lazer Eyes because she was gone most of the weekend. She was pet-sitting her niece's mother-in-law's poodle. We kind of feel sorry for the dog because he was neglected for the first year of his life. Without realizing it (until later) the lady was at a puppy mill. Someone she knew had gotten a puppy there a couple of years earlier and got a healthy dog, and then the person got greedy and started breeding the dogs out of control. Our friend had the dog for a day when he jumped off the couch and broke his leg. After a $4000 surgery, the V-E-T said that the dog (Danny) was severely calcium deficient because his mother had been over bred and he had also been de-barked by having his vocal cords punctured. The V-E-T said that there were two ways to do it (if someone was going to be that cruel) and they picked the crueler of the two. He now sounds like he has laryngitis when he barks. He was also kept in a kennel the first year of his life, so he can't run in a straight line - if he wants to get from point A to point B, he runs in circles while he is getting there. Mom said that he refused to come near her all weekend unless she chased him down and cornered him to pick him up. She did come back to visit us and take care of us, but she just wasn't around.

Then last night, she was visiting with her nephew, and she came home smelling of something strange. This is where our sister/cousin Dharma lives. But that isn't who she smelled like. She smelled like another strange kitty. Her nephew got a kitten last night. The kitten was abandoned by his mother when he was just a week old or so. He is now 5-weeks old and came to live with him. The kitten is still drinking from a bottle but is starting to eat solid foods, and Dharma is not happy yet, but it was the first night. His name is going to be Einstein. Mom says he has a ways to go to grow into the name, but eventually he will. We think that is all the news that is fit to print for now.

Oh Lordy! Poor dog. Puppy Mills are just the most awful thing. Some people should just step away from animals forever. Einstein is a great name for a kitten, we hope he does well. Dharma will come round I expect.

*hisses & spits at puppy millers*

We join Whicky in hissing & spitting at puppy mills, and add to it clawrs of doom, whapping, swatting, peeing and anything else we can think of. Poor pup.

That poor dog. How good of your person to go caring for these kids, but you need attention too don't you?!

Wow, your mommy sure has been busy this weekend....however, she still deserves the laser eyes for not spending quality time (ie. 100% time) with you!

Puppy mills are BAD! They should be outlawed! We're glad the woofie has a good home now!
