Sleepy Saturday - and Contest Winners

Here I was quietly sleeping when all of a sudden.......

Congratulations to Derby - He got the most right. The only one he missed (and no-cat got it right) was Yorktown.

Mr. Hendrix was second with 2 incorrect.

Tybalt and Chey & Gemini had a tie for third place with 3 incorrect.

We would like to reward you all for trying. We will be contacting you on your blogs with contact information. Thank you all for trying our little contest. We know it was hard, but hopefully we can show you more pictures of Mom's favorite American city if we can stow away in her luggage.

In other news, Cody is very excited because Tybalt's sisters are coming over to play today. Mom will be gone most of the day, but Tiki, Tavi, and Camie have agreed to act as chaperone's. We hope Tybalt will come also.

Thursday Thirteen (plus 2) on Friday - Contest - Updated with Answers

Mom said we could have a little contest. As we said yesterday, Mom will be leaving us in a week to go to the Washington DC area. All of these pictures are of places that Mom will be visiting with her students. We decided to have a contest to see if any of you could name each of the places. They are all within about 2-3 hours of Washington DC and range from Virginia to Pennsylvania and they all have to do with American history (with the exception of one). The picture number is below the picture. The first cat (etc.) to guess all correct (or the one who comes closest) will win a prize package. We will also have a 2nd and 3rd place winner. Formerly Feral Friday on Thursday

We have decided to do something a bit different today and tomorrow. We are going to do tomorrow's Formerly Feral Friday today, and we will do our Thursday Thirteen tomorrow. We have decided to do this because Mom is going to leave us for a week starting on the 6th of April. We have mentioned before that Mom works at a middle school, and that she is the coordinator of the 8th grade trip to Washington DC. Well, we want to show you some of the places she will see on her trip, and all of the pictures are on her work computer, so she has to bring them home.

Sooooooo..........here is Cody as Mom sees him from outside. As you can see, even from outside, he looks like he is going to take off. In fact, this is where he moved to seconds after Mom took the first picture.

If you notice the way the curtains are pushed back, that is totally our fault. We like to walk under the curtains and hook one side with our tails and pull it along with us. It makes them all bunch up in the middle and makes Mom frustrated. She fixes them all the time, only to walk back into the living room 15 minutes later to see them all bunched up again - hehe. Doesn't she realize they are better this way. You can also see the reflection of Mom's car in the window.

Meezer Monday

Sometime last year, Mom made us a really big blanket that we use in our stroller, and our PTU. It is big enough for both of us to snuggle in, and is shaped kind of like an pouch. We can crawl inside of it, and be completely covered if we want. I like to make sure my head is out tho. She recently moved it so it is on our Millie bed. We have been enjoying curling up in it. Middle Name Meme

Well, since none of us have middle names, and we all have about the same nicknames, we are just going to use our first names.

Tiki first -

T - Tonkinese - It is what I am

I - Intelligent - all Siamese bred cats are smart

K - Kind - I really like everyone and everycat that comes to visit us.

I - Indulged - I think we all are indulged - as every cat should be.

Tavi next -

T - Tenacious - when I see something I want, I will work at it until I get it

A - Affectionate - I am a lover not a hater

V - Vocal - My origins are Siamese and as a breed, we are known to be talkative.

I - Insistent - It goes back to being tenacious - I am also insistent when I want something.

Cody next

C - Cautious - I am always very cautious around everyone.

O - Optimistic - this actually describes Mom more than me - but she is optimistic that our relationship will progress past my being afraid of everyone and everything.

D - Defensive - I get very defensive when people invade my space, but I run rather than fight.

Y - Youthful - at least Mom thinks of me that way - I am about half the age of the other two.

In other news, Mom can report that she thinks Cody has really soft fur. He let her scratch his neck and cheek for about 10-15 seconds yesterday while Mom was giving him some temptations. He didn't run away after she stopped. He stayed there and ate some more treats, but he was a little further away. Still, this is a big step for him. Yea!

Mom had the day off from work, and instead of staying here and loving us, she went out. She said she had a relaxing afternoon, and then she went out and had dinner with some old friends (her sixth grade English teacher) and her husband. The only good part about that was that she went to a sea food place, so she brought us back some real live dead shrimp. I can't wait to try some.

Mom said she is going to help us with our name meme tomorrow. She is too tired tonight.

I don't have a middle name, maiden name and mom isn't married, so she doesn't have a maiden name either, so I am going to use the nickname I am called most - Bugs or Bugsie.

G - Graceful - Mom thinks all greys are graceful.
S - Silly - Mom calls me this when I am playing. I like to run in circles and jump sideways at her.

Thursday Thirteen and Contest Winner

Our Thursday Thirteen for today is different. Here are 13 reasons why we need a new photographer.

She cut off Cody's head. She cut off part of Tiki's head.

This one is out of focus and she cut off Tavi's ears.
You can barely see Cody in this one because it is so dark.Where is Tavi's head - it has completely disappeared.She managed to take the picture just as Tavi walked off.She can't keep herself out of the picture. We don't mind an occasional hand - especially when its giving us treats, or skritches. But she needs to keep the rest of her body parts out of our pictures!She must not like ears too much. She keeps cutting them off.Tiki's nose - where has it gone?

She managed to cut off both Tiki's and Tavi's head.Just some back here - and a backside - no faces, not even a profile.Out of focus and with the tips of the ears cut off.And once again, she decided to lop off Tiki's ears. Its sad really - you would think that by the time she lived as long as she has, she would know how to use a camera. Its not that difficult - especially since she has an aim and shoot type one. And still she manages to mess up. Oh well.

Mom put off letting us blog for over a year, and we often wondered how on earth we would think of things to say for 100 posts, but somehow it just came easily. Boy did we have a great time at the parties yesterday. We stopped in a couple of times at Capt. Jack and Dante's party but weren't able to say anything. We are sorry. We also spent some time at Tybalt's. I had a great time getting to know Holly and Ivy. They are very sweet. Don't forget - tomorrow is our contest.

Meezer Monday - St. Patrick's Day

As the saying goes...Everyone's Irish on St. Patrick's Day. In honor of the day, we have decided to go green. It is Mom's favorite color, so she loves this day, plus she is about 1/16 Irish. Mol.Don't party too much tonight.

Easy Like Sunday Morning

Mom took my beds away to wash them. At least she made me a bed out of a couple of blankets. It is actually quite soft.

I don't know if you can tell what that purple thing is or not, but it goes to the rug sucking monster. Mom has a Dyson, and she took it apart to clean it out. And then she put it back together and sucked up everything in our room. Our litterbox is behind me in the picture, and we all tend to kick litter everywhere, so Mom gets out the monster and sucks the excess stuff up. We all run and hide when that happens. Why can't she just leave things like they are???

Thursday Thirteen - Updated

Thirteen things that Mom did to annoy us this week.

1. She washed all of our bedding and removed all of our smells and then made our Gizzy clash with the towel behind it.
2. She didn't wake up to give us our breakfast on time over the weekend.
3. She left us to go day hunting.
4. She took Monday off of work, but didn't stay home with us.
5. She told us she was going to be gone most of the weekend.
6. She didn't give us our Temptations every night.
7. She had the flashy box out too much.
8. She put up coverings over our window in our room. We won't have sun anymore (Mom here - they are just sheers, and the sun will still come thru boys).
9. She has woken up late the last two days and we haven't had our morning conversation time.
10. She hasn't been eating any food that we want to share with her.
11. She hasn't taken us on another walk yet.
12. She comes in when we are taking a nap and wakes us up by draping our toys on us (see above)
13. She has been falling asleep way too early, and we haven't been able to visit all of our friends.

We've been trying to load a picture for over 6 hours and are giving up because Mom has to get to work. Guess we are next to be hit by the blogger bug. Updated - We finally got it to load.

Mom finally bribed me for a photo shoot. As you can see, I even got close to mom - that pinkish colored blob in the lower left are her fingers, and that yellow yarn is the corner of our purr pad.

In other news, this is our 92nd post, and if we figured it right - next Wednesday, the 19th will be our 100th post, and Mom said that we could have a contest. We thought and thought about what to do - because we have already said when it will occur, and guessing the time isn't good, because sometimes Mom will post early and put 12:01 AM as our time. Sooooo, anyway, we decided to award a prize to the 13th individual comment on our blog next Wednesday. Why the thirteenth you ask?? Because 13 is Mom's favorite number, and so many people think it is unlucky, so next Wednesday, we decided to make it lucky! Mom will hide the comments for that day, so no-one will know, and we will pick out some fun stuff. Any animal blogger can comment that day. Whatever prizes Mom picks will be sent anywhere in the world and we will customize it to the animal that wins. Good luck!
