Thankful Thursday

It's not so much that I am thankful, but my mom sure is. I hid from her really good the other day. She was looking and looking for me and couldn't find me. I wouldn't even come out for treats. I finally ran past her so she was able to go to bed. She looked outside for me, and in the refrigerator - mol - knowing I wouldn't go in either of those places.

I wouldn't come up on the bed for a couple of days to get treats, but I am back to doing that. The thing Mom is most thankful for tho, is I am allowing her to pet me while I eat my treats. I even let her pet me last night for a bit after the treats were all gone. I've never willingly let her pet me before for as long as I am now. I hate to say this, but I am kind of liking this petting thing. I am even raising up my back while she pets me to make her do it again. Don't tell anyone.

Saying Goodbye is Hard & Thankful Thursday (and an update)

We were so very sorry to hear that our good friend LC has run off to the bridge to be with her brother. LC, you were a wonderful friend, and an even better sister. Even though you weren't thrilled to have first Ayla and then Iza join your family, you took them under your "wings" and taught them everything they needed. We will miss you very much.

In other news, here is an update on Camie...She is doing pretty well. For the most part, she is acting normally. Mom says she is a little bit slower on her walks, and doesn't want to go as far. Mom has noticed that she can no longer lift her head to look up. She can still look ahead of her and down, but she cannot raise her head to look up. Mom was trying to give her some treats, and she cried a bit when she raised her head to get them, but it's okay because Mom is making sure she doesn't have to look up. All of her treats are given at a comfortable level for her. Other than that one thing, Mom thinks she is doing great considering.

As for our Thankful Thursday, we are thankful that Camie is doing so well. We are continuing to take each day as it comes and be thankful for the time we have with her. Cody is still sleeping with her every night, and we continue to bathe her and love on her.
LC, we will see you at the bridge. We will miss you very much.

Thankful Thursday

Because the last couple of days have been so sucky for us and for Mom (those whose beans are on facebook know what's been going on), we decided that we needed to focus on some positive stuff. So, we are thankful that Camie is such a wonderful woofie sister, and that she loves to snuggle with us. We are also thankful we have such wonderful friends. Thank you all for your purrs and words of encouragement. Some of the comments made Mom's eyes leak. We are so, so grateful to have friends like all of you!

Thankful Thursday

It is starting to get chilly at night. I am thankful I have a nice warm bed to cuddle up in (and a bean to cuddle with - if I want).

Thankful Thursday

We are thankful that we have a Mom who gives us nommy treats.
Camie eating a home made Woofie Ice Cream - plain yoghurt mixed with creamy peanut butter and then frozen. She loves it!

Me eating my dish of yoghurt.

Mom can't stand yoghurt, but she bought some just for us. We are well and truely spoiled!

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for many things. Among them, a mama who looks at me, says "Oh how cute," grabs the flashy box, and then leaves me alone to keet being cute.

(Not So) Thankful Thursday

Miss Jade here - that woman who calls herself my mother did something horrible to me. She said my neck furs were looking yucky and since I don't really like my brothers to bathe me, they were a bit greasy. That woman held me down and used a soapy cloth to wash my neck, and then a clean cloth to get the soap off. After that, to make sure my neck was totally soap free, she DUMPED warm water on me. *shudder* I do have to say that my neck furs are floofy now, and will look better once I forgive the woman so she can brush my neck. It is the only part of me that doesn't look my best, but it will soon. Sorry there aren't any pictures, but I really don't want any taken of me in a disheveled state.

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful I can steal Tavi's favorite bed once in a while. Maybe he will even join me in the bed for a nice brotherly nap. It is big enough to share.

Thankful Thursday

First, here are some more pictures of our new cousin. He was busy sleeping and looking cute the last time Mom saw him.

Now, for Thankful Thursday...we are thankful we don't have a new kitten at our house. Mom came home tonight and told us we almost had a new sibling. One of her students found a litter of 3 Siamese kittens in the rain 2 days ago. She told the student that if they couldn't find the owners, she would take them and find a home for them. Fortunately, the student called her yesterday and said that they are back home. Hopefully, they won't be outside in the rain anymore.
And for those who asked, Mom is almost done with the afghan. She has 2-1/2 more rows to go and then the border. We will post a picture on Friday when it is all done. She should finish it later today.

Thankful Thursday

Mom wanted a picture of Tiki with wings at the Bridge for our sidebar, but she has not learned photoshop yet, and doesn't have the time to let us visit everyone, let alone learn a new computer program, so she asked Miss Ann at Zoolatry if she would mind making us a picture. She e-mailed her at 2 in the morning our time, and by the time Mom got to work, we had all of these wonderful pictures to choose from. Thank you so much, Miss Ann. They are wonderful. As you can see on the side, we chose a smaller version of the last picture. Aren't they beautiful. We are thankful for all of you and all of the support and hugs and purrs you have given us.

Thursday Thirteen

Mom left us alone on Tuesday when she was supposed to be home with us to go see our human cousin and his new kitten. We decided to allow her to put up some pictures of Einstein because he is so cute. He is now 5-1/2 weeks old. Our human cousin N adores him, and Dharma is getting better about sharing her house with Einstein. She is now going up to his "crib" and sniffing it. Mom thinks by the end of the week, she should pretty much accept Little Einstein.

We are a little worried about all the fauning Mom has done over Little Einstein, but she keeps promising us no more kittens. Of course she did promise us no more cats, and we ended up with Miss Jade (not that we would trade her for anycat). But, it does prove to us that Mom's promises don't mean much - mol.

Thursday Thankfulness

We decided to say what we are thankful for today.
Tavi - I am thankful that Mom doesn't get too annoyed when I bang on the door to go out of our room. Sometimes she even lets me out.
Tiki - I am thankful for my heating pad, and my Garfield bed.
Cody - I am thankful for Temptations and Greenies.
Miss Jade - I am thankful that the big woofiecat hasn't eaten me yet. She even likes to take naps next to me. I guess I don't think she will eat me anymore.
Camie - I am thankful I don't have to run anymore unless I want to, and I am thankful for Mom's bed to sleep on when she goes to work.

Mama's Thankful Thursday - UPDATED

Mom here: I am taking over the blog today. I am thankful that Miss Jade took such a short time to integrate into the family. As you can see, three out of my four babies were sharing a small space yesterday just as I was getting ready to go to sleep.

I am also thankful that although Tiki has lost a lot of weight again, as evidenced by the above picture, and he has been experiencing more lows than I would like, he is still fighting to stay healthy and demanding food and loving. And every time he does go low, he fights hard to let me know that something is wrong so that I can help him.

Finally, I am thankful for all of the friends we have made who have purred for all of us, but especially for Tiki. It has been a bit discouraging to see him reacting so strongly to his insulin (which is supposed to help him, not hurt him) all of a sudden, and your encouragement has helped more than I can say. I am going to be making an appointment to take him to a vet who specializes in feline diabetes at the end of this month and will update you all then. **UPDATE - Our appointment is Thursday, September 25 at 3:00 pm PST.

Tavi's Thankful Thursday

I decided to do a Thankful Thursday today. I am thankful to all of you for asking if Tiki is okay. He is. Mom had to give him two squirts of syrup again. She has been cutting down on his insulin, but he is still reacting very strongly to it. This was the 4th time in a week that he was low, but this time and the last time we blogged about it were bad. So, I am also thankful that Mom knew what to do to get him well again, so I could relax. Thank you all for asking about Tiki. It means a lot to all of us.
