Easy Like Sunday Morning

As you can see, Camie's bed makes an excellent place to sleep... and it is even better if you can take over most of it so that she has to sleep half on the floor.

Closer Than They Thought

Tiki here: They probably didn't realize just how close they really were. Miss Jade is the lump under the blanket. Tavi's tail is almost touching her - hehe

In other news, we won't be able to visit any of you until probably sometime on Sunday. Mom's computer is going to visit our Uncle M to be worked on. Mom got an external hard drive and our computer doesn't like it yet. Uncle M is going to get them to play nice. Mom has a Sunday post ready, and we should be able to visit all of you again on Sunday evening.

As you can see, I (Cody) can't eat my Temptations in peace. But, I am such a gentleman, I just let Miss Jade eat what she wants. It is the only time she doesn't hiss at me when we are this close.

Thursday Thirteen

What is that back there?

Oh, It's just you.

Well, we haven't done a Thursday Thirteen in a while, so we thought we would let you know 13 things we have done/seen this week.

1.) We have had mom home every day with us since she has her month off.

2.) Mom cleaned all of our bedding and ham-micks.

3.) Mom threw away a bunch of our climbing into, playing in boxes.

4.) We got to meet some new people.

5.) We get to annoy mom really late at night/early in the morning by banging on the door to ask to go out and explore the rest of the house (like 2 or 3 am).

6.) Mom is up really late - hence the annoying mom - so she sleeps late in the morning. That means we get fed later. We don't mind (that much).

7.) We have a new cat living with us - she isn't too bad. She's stopped hiding under things most of the time.

8.) She still hisses at us, but only if we come near now.

9.) Miss Jade has discovered Temptations and steals Cody's that Mom leaves on his blanket for him to nibble on at night. Cody now has to get his hand fed to him, and doesn't get his extra special night time ones.

10.) Mom has caught Camie eating our food twice. She has to figure out a way to keep Camie away from our food and doesn't quite know what to do yet.

11.) We got furminated - well, Tavi and Miss Jade did. Mom won't do it to Tiki because he is too bony, and you all know why Cody will never be furminated.

12.) Mom went and got a bunch more litter and food. We now have enough food to last about 2 months.

13.) We haven't been sleeping with Mom because Miss Jade is sleeping on the bed. She seems to think one corner of the bed is hers. We still aren't comfortable enough with her to get up there and sleep too.

Meezer Rule Wednesday

Mom here: This video was taken Monday night and Tuesday was much better. Miss Jade was out of her room (my bathroom) for much of the evening, laying on my bed. She didn't even hide. Tiki and Tavi have decided to ignore her for the most part, and when they do go to investigate, she is the one doing the growling and hissing now, but I think it is mostly out of fright. Cody did notice her for the first time, and when she hissed at him, he looked at me with a "What did I do?" expression. Miss Jade knows where her bed is if she wants to hide, but she would much rather hang out on my bed next to me, so I am letting her for the time being. If she gets really hissy, or the others get too upset, she will go back in there for a time out - to give everyone a break. Other than the growling/hissing, she is being a really good girl, and takes her medicine without any fuss. It does make her drool a lot, so I know the taste must be horrible, but while she lays her ears back, she doesn't fight or squirm. Does anyone know anyone in Southern California who wants a really sweet kitty that has to take medicine? Please, before I fall all the way in love.

Tabby Tummy Trouble Tuesday

Hi, My name is Miss Jade. I have a new lady person who said I am much too ladylike to be called anything but Miss. I was named for my green eyes. I have a funny pigmentation in my eye that is closest to the camera, and the nice lady person thinks it is cool looking. I am a grey and tan tabby, or so I've been told. I don't really care. I have tummy troubles, and my tummy hurts a lot, but the nice lady person gives me yucky medicine and it makes my tummy not hurt any more. I am still really scared of everything right now, and have spent most of my time hiding under my towel. The nice lady person comes into my room and gathers me up in my towel and puts me on her bed next to her to snuggle. I fall asleep that way. It is so comforting. She says my towel is my security blanket. I don't like it when I don't have my towel to cuddle in.

The nice lady person has some not so nice other cats. There are two that will come up to me and sniff me for a while and then hiss at me. The nice lady person tells them they aren't allowed to hiss, and then spends a few minutes telling them that she still loves them and they are still her babies. There is a big woofie, but I haven't really paid any attention to her, and she hasn't paid any to me either. The nice lady person said that the other two cats wouldn't always be hissy toward me. She said they were just nervous too and that is how they say they are scared. I just want to hide. There is another cat, but I haven't met him. I don't know anything about him, so I can't really tell you whether he is nice or hissy.

I did have some tummy troubles when I first got here, but my nice lady person thinks it was more from nerves than anything. She said to tell you that I have been using my litterbox just fine and that everything is as it should be (how embarrassing).

She ferminated me last night. I didn't like it near my tummy but she was gentle, and I let her know when she got too close. She says I am much floofier and silkier now. She says I still look a little bedraggled and she needs to do something about that. I certainly hope that doesn't involve a bath or anything like that, but it would be nice to look more ladylike.

Meezer Monday

I am looking at the 2 cases of food Mom hasn't put away yet.

We have enough for 46 more days.

We also have a visitor at our house. Mom says she is a foster kitty named Jade. Jade has tummy troubles and has to have medicine 2x a day. Grr's, Midnight's, Cocoa's, Rascal's, Riley's and Max's mom rescued her from an evil shelter, and finally got someone to help with her tummy. Mom says she is a very pretty, long haired, dilute calico. We will allow her to post a picture of herself and tell a little of herself tomorrow.

Mom also got to meet Grr's, etc. mom, allergic girl and shy girl, as well as Victor Tabbycat's and Bonnie Underfoot's Mom and Boy. She had her BBQ today. We also got to meet Grr's family when they brought Jade over. It was very nice to meet them. Mom had a great time at the BBQ and hopes to do it again soon with more Cat Blogosphere parents. Mom said that they talked about all of our friends and us, and it was wonderful to get to meet people we have read about thru their cat's eyes in person. We were glad to meet Grr's family too - they give great skritches. Mom says she is glad to have made some new friends today and hopes that others get the opportunity to do the same thing. Northern CA kitties, we really hope you get the chance to get together!

Silly Sunday & Doodle

Well, since we've already done doodles of ourselves in the first Doodle Week, we thought we would try to capture Mom as a doodle and she came out pretty well we guess.

Strings are really fun to play with. Mom was playing with me last night and I fell off the bed into these boxes, but I kept on playing.

We are having our BBQ today to meet some fellow bloggers. Mom will post pictures later.

Annoyed

We think this is the best kind of pet to have. At least for kitties.

I'm slightly annoyed because Mom went out to the movies yesterday and didn't get home 'til late. I am letting her know I am not happy about being left alone all evening. Bonus points if anyone can tell us who is on Mom's wallpaper.

Our Doodle today ties in perfectly with what Mom hopes to be doing starting tomorrow. She is on vacation for a month, and she hopes to do a lot of sleeping with one of us. Of course, we are going to make sure that we come first.

Mom loves it that one minute we can be wrestling and having fun.

And the next, we can act as if nothing had happened.

Tabby Tuesday & Doodle 2

Here is day 2 for Doodle Week. We are having so much fun with the doodles.

Well, I guess I have decided to trust Mom again. As you can see, I am up on the bed with her being fed Temptations. In the short space of about 3 days, I have gone from not trusting her to hand feed me temptations even under the bed to jumping up on their while she is awake and taking them from her hand. I guess this place isn't so bad after all.

Meezer Monday & Doodle 1

Here is our Doodle Bug for Doodle Week 2. We had a lot of fun participating last time.

We have a gate up in the entrance to our room to keep Camie in and the baby that lives with us out. It used to be a different gate that mom had to step on to go thru. Over the weekend, our room-mates gave us this gate instead so that we could put it up off of the ground so that.....

we can go under, and don't have to jump. Mom did this mostly for Tiki as he has trouble jumping now. This way, he isn't stuck in the room all day until Mom comes home from work. We have been having a great time climbing under the gate. Mom says we keep going in and out, in and out.

Sadness on Sunday

We were so sorry to hear of the horrible accident of Forest. Please don't feel guilty Forest's parents. You did your best to make sure that Forest was well loved and taken care of. We've escaped a couple of times too, and know how enticing it can be to try to get outside. We are purring for you.

Snuggling on Saturday

Mom is going to be gone most of the day. She is doing a walk this morning and then her niece is getting married this afternoon. She is deserting us, so we are going to curl up here and snuggle. We will be back to visiting y'all on Sunday.

There was something really good smelling on Camie's bed. It was an awful lot like catnip, but I know Mom hasn't sprinkled any of that around because she hasn't brought any from Papa's house. I was rubbing all over Camie's bed and rolling all over the place, and then I just got tired so I decided to take a nap until Mom caught me with the flashy box.

Mom's Heros

We caught a bug. Mom isn't scared of bugs, but she doesn't really like them around, so when we caught one, she just turned over and let us have fun with it. It was a June bug, and Mom thinks it got away because she didn't hear any crunching. In either case, we got to play with it a bit first.

Cody Being Brave

Mom got proof of Cody up on the bed with her. He thought she was asleep and came up on the bed, but Mom wasn't and was able to reach over, grab her camera, turn it on and take a picture all without Cody jumping down. He is getting back to his old self slowly but surely.

Independence Day

This is where it all started!

Did you know that we should actually be celebrating our independence on July 2nd??? That is when the Continental Congress voted for independence and refined the Declaration of Independence. The Declaration of Independence was read to the public on the 4th of July and that is why we celebrate on that day, but we officially declared ourselves independent from England on the 2nd! Isn't history cool.

Possible Get-together

Hi All, We have a couple of questions for you (especially the Southern California kitties).

1. Would your parents be interested in meeting one another?

2. If you would, what city would you like to meet in?

We know that we have quite a few kitties in the Long Beach/Los Angeles area, but we would like to include the kitties all the way down to San Diego County and all the way up north as far as people would like. We don't know if we are the only ones who want to meet in person, and are wondering if other's are interested too.

If you are, Mom said she would be willing to organize a picnic/potluck for sometime the end of July or the beginning of August. We know this isn't our usual type of post, so for your viewing pleasure, we are going to include a gratuitous snuggle picture.

Tabby Tuesday

Well, I thought I would give you an update on me. I will come out for food, and Mom moved my "sucky" blanket up on the bed. It is the blanket I like to nurse on and knead. I will go up on the bed as long as Mom doesn't move. She has been leaving me some Temptations up there as a special treat for being brave and going up there when she is on the bed. I still spend most of my time hanging out under the bed, but it is not because I am hiding. Mom said she is going to put a couple of soft beds under there for me to lay in so it is more comfortable for me. Happy Tuesday everyone! Cody
