Tortie Tuesday

Hi! Me Gracie! Two-legged thing mean to me. She chopped of my clawrs. Me not like it. No pictures of Gracie today because Two-legged thing battery dead. Two-legged thing doesn't know where battery juicer is. Stupid Two-legged thing. Me get lots of toys today tho, and Two-legged thing got Gracie green stuff that make me feel googley. Two-legged thing sprinkled it on cardboard and me rubs and rubs on it, and me make my clawrs sharp again. Me still growls lots at other cats. Two-legged thing got something called flyway that is supposed to make Gracie and other cats get along. Gracie lubs to purrrrrrrrrs on two-legged thing. Bye!

In other news, we were so very sad to hear that Cal lost his battle with IBS/IBD. He was such a brave fighter, and was so loved by his mommy and daddy and all of his siblings. If you haven't done so, please stop by and leave his family some comforting words.

Tortie and Tabby Tuesday

Me Gracie. Me had to go to B-E-T again. Me not hab op-per-ate-shun. B-E-T and two legged thing think me already have op-per-ate-shun, so me not hab one unless me get like Ayla. Me get rooster shots and big needle with tag inside. Me not understand that. Me bery good again. Two legged thing thinks me like big blue box that moobes. B-E-T think me bery attached to two legged thing. Me not want to let go of her. Me want to be held by her always. Me still kind of growly at other cats. Grrrr. Me bery purry at two legged thing and me lub to make small holes in her when I need on her. Me like to need on her lots and lots. She says me clawrs sharp. Purrrrrr

My tummy gotted shabed. Me has scar in place where op-per-ate-shun was before.

Miss Jade here. I had to go to the V-E-T today also. Mom decided to see if she could make an appointment while she had Gracie there this morning and they had one this afternoon for me. I weigh all of 6 lbs. Gracie is over 9. I was so scared going to the V-E-T that I pooped in my carrier. It was majorly stinky and I got it all over the blanket and all over myself. The good thing is that when we got to the V-E-T, I got it all over the table, all over the assistant and all over Mom. Mom said she understood, but that I was very Stinky! They got me all cleaned up and gave Mom a plastic bag to put my blanket in. The V-E-T is having some medicine compounded for me for my achy tummy, and he wants me to try some new foods. My records were faxed by my old V-E-T and my new V-E-T is going to go thru them and try to get all the results from all of the tests I have had, so I don't have to have more. Otherwise, I am more or less okay healthwise.

Mom here: Yes, I made two trips to the vet today. Gracie was a little love, but kept wanting to climb up me to be held. The vet was surprised by her reaction since she has only been here a little more than a week. Jade is okay, but the vet is concerned about the constant diarrhea. The old vet report showed that tests were run, but not the results, so hopefully he will consult with the old vet.

In other news, does any kitty know of anyone in the southern CA area that would be willing to foster a mama kitty and her three week old babies? I have a friend whose neighbor didn't get one of their cats fixed and at first threatened to drown the kittens. At first they were going to let me take her before the kittens were born, but changed their mind at the last minute. In the meantime, Gracie came, and I no longer have room for a mama and her kittens as Gracie is taking up my only "free" space (my bathroom). Now the neighbor(s) are tired of dealing with the mama and the kittens and seem to be willing to let them be fostered. If anyone knows of anyone or anyplace that would take them, please e-mail me at taramorse(AT)aol(DOT)com. Sorry for the long post.

She may be a terrible secretary, but I have to admit, Mom does give really great skritches. She fell asleep last night at 8:00. That is a full 6 hours earlier than she usually does. What is up with that? She never gets 6 hours of sleep a night during the week. She's lucky if we let her get 4-1/2. Last night she probably got 9 hours. That is just unacceptable during the week. We hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Hi, me new here. Me not happy today. Me had to go to B-E-T. Me was bery, bery good there. Me was bery, bery good in big blue box that moobes. Two legged thing said so. Me bery healthy. Me no hab any sickness. Me no hab any kittens. Me go back on Monday to make sure me no hab kittens eber.

Me had to get fur stolen for blood test. When the two legged thing brought me home, me growl at other kitties. Me like to growl at them. Grrrrr! Me like to purr on two legged thing. Me purr loud. Purrrrrrrrr!

Meezer Monday

This is how to spend a weekend. Mom decided not to stay home with us all weekend. She went to work (for a couple of hours) both days to get some stuff done when there wasn't anyone else around.

We hate to ask, but the New Kitty has a V-E-T appointment this afternoon, and Mom doesn't get paid for another week. If you could help out with a couple of dollars, we would really appreciate it. Thank you.

PS - We will be picking her name some time today and will post it and the winner tomorrow as well as what information we get from the V-E-T.

There is something new living in there. Mom got a call earlier today from a friend. Her friend has 4 dogs that don't like cats at all and have done some not so nice things to them. Mom's friend also has a neighbor that has a lot of cats that never get taken care of and who has the attitude that "Oh well, who cares if something happens to the cats. They can be replaced." Anyway, Mom's friend is afraid for the kitties so she puts a trap in her yard a couple of times a month and last night, she caught this. She called Mom to see if she could find a home for her. We are not sure if she is one of the neighbor's kitties or not, and Mom and her friend don't care.

She is a very friendly cat. When Mom went to pick her up, she kept following Mom around and rubbing all over her. She also wanted Mom to sit next to her while she ate. She doesn't like being held, but loves pets. Mom thinks that she would soon be comfortable being held with some patience. Oh, and she is a calico, not a tortie, because she has a small white patch of fur on her chest and another on her chin.

Mom says she has to live in the bathroom until she can be tested for yuckies (which should be on Monday). We will keep you posted on what happens.

Anyway, we are going to have a name the cat contest. Mom will make the person who submits the name we choose a snuggle in the color(s) of their choice. Please submit your submissions in the comments of this post. Mom would like to pick a winning name before the New Kitty (NK) goes to the V-E-T on Monday.

Finally Friday

We are so glad it is finally Friday. It means Mom will be home all weekend. She says that she needs to get lots of sleep this weekend, so that means lots of cuddle time.

Thursday Thirteen Plus Two - Bits and Pieces

Tavi here...Mom decided to break us into pieces. Of course, Mom could only get Miss Jade and me because of the no touchy rule with Cody.

My front foot and Miss Jade's front foot - as you can see, Miss Jade has considerable toehawk happening.

My nose and mouth, and Miss Jade's nose and mouth. Mine is a pretty velvety bluish grey and her's is a speckly pinky-brown.

My eye, and Miss Jade's eye. She's got some eye boogers, but mine are a pretty turqoise bluish-green and hers are green with a big brown freckle in the one.

My ear is a greyish white inside and her's is pink. Miss Jade also has a lot more floofy ear hairs than I do.

Our whiskers... Mine are all creamy white - she's got a couple of black ones thrown in. My furs around my whiskers are also a pretty bluish grey and Miss Jades are a nice tabby grey and white.

Our floofs. I am not that floofy and Miss Jade is.

Our back feets. Mine are pinky grey and hers are browny pink with toehawks again. She sure does have a lot of floof.

As you can see, we both have the same parts, but our parts are different.

Mom keeps trying to take my picture, so my rule for today is...try to hide your face when the flashy box comes out.

A bunch of our friends have asked about how Mom was feeling. She went back to work yesterday and is feeling better, just tired. She says the flu bug she got was a doozy.

Tabby Tuesday &

Yes, once again, it is a picture of me and treats, only this one is just a little bit fuzzy. Mom hasn't really taken any new pictures of us in a couple of days because she has been home sick for the last almost week. She came home early on Wednesday and she said she was feeling so bad they didn't even have to force her to come home (she thinks the place will fall apart without her). Anyway, she has been home since then, and finally went back to work today. We have a feeling she is going to come home exhausted tonight.

We are also sending purrs to Miles because he has tummy trouble and Miss Jade can relate to that. We hope you feel better soon Miles!

Easy Like Sunday Morning

Mom has had a rough weekend. One of her good friends died a week ago and the memorial service was on Friday night. He was only 34 years old and had a 13 year old son who attends the school Mom works at. She said the service was beautiful and that there were close to 1000 people at the service. He was loved by a lot of people. We are sleeping with her this weekend to help her feel a bit better.
