Here I am posing on the afghan Mom finished last night. It is very soft and warm to sleep on. I keep trying to take a nap on it, but Mom makes me leave.
This is a dark picture, but Mom was trying to show the size of it. It is almost the length of a queen size bed, and covers about 2/3 of the mattress width.
And here is a close up of the texture. The pattern is called Basketweave Throw. Mom got the pattern from Lion Brand Yarn. She said it took her about 6 or 7 days/nights of crocheting about 5 hours at a time. She watched DVDs while she worked on it. The good news is that there is enough yarn left over for Mom to crochet or knit a blanket for me, and maybe one for one of our kitty friends.

It's gorgeous! We love red here at our house! We hope you get your own blanket, Tavi! Course, you could always just claim that one!
Wow! Purrty afghan! Wish our mom was talented and could make something like that for us to nap on!

How beautiful! You look so awesome on that blankie that we are happy to know she has enough yarn left over to make you your very own...plus when she gives that one you are on as a gift...they will get the extra special bonus gift of some of your furs!!
What a lovely afghan. The Woman quite likes the pattern to (so hard to find a good pattern with crocheting) but she is in the middle of a project she started a few years ago and only got about three quarters of the way through...in a few years who knows?
Your mom did a beautiful job! I bet you can't wait until you get one of your own.
It is beautiful! I am new to the crochet world and have only made scarves. How long have you been crocheting?
That looks furry lovely. Mum is working on something by crow shay too but it doesn't need to be done until March! She mainly works on it while she watches feetsball.
Oh man, dat afigan looks really comfy! Mom needs to learn to do stuff like dat.
How beautiful!! Your Mom's niece is very lucky to be getting that afghan! Mama crochets a little, only EASY patterns cause she's too lazy to do anything too difficult....
Hugs & Purrs,
Sammy, Festus & Emma
